Jack Wagner was born in Washington, Missouri on October 3, 1959. His father, Peter Wagner, was a car salesman and his mother, Scotty Wagner, was a homemaker. His birth name is Peter John Wagner. At a young age, Wagner showed great skill in sports, showed great promise in golf, and eventually won the Missouri Junior Championship upon entering high school.

He was raised as part of a Catholic education. Wagner attended St. Gertrude Parish School, but later transferred to St. Francis Borgia Regional High School. When he was in Sainte-Gertrude, he was mainly active in the theater field since he played in several plays. In Saint-François, sport was his main attraction. Upon graduating from high school, Wagner continued his studies at the University of Missouri.

He spent little time in Missouri after a year pursuing an athletic scholarship at the University of Arizona. At University, he failed to qualify despite his best performances. However, he would later participate in an audition for the University’s drama department, after which he would receive $3,000. Later, he will obtain his diploma in theater in 1982.

Wagner met Kristina Malandro on the set of the daytime soap opera, General Hospital. Kristina’s character, Felicia Cummings was a love interest of Frisco Jones. Jack and Kristina married in 1993. They had two boys, Peter Wagner, born in 1990 and Harrison Wagner in 1994. The couple went through a troubled time and decided to file for divorce in 2006.

After his marriage to Kristina ended, Wagnera began dating Heather Locklear in 2007. The pair were engaged in August 2011 but would later call off their engagement a few months later – in November of that year.

In 1988, Wagner had a one-night stand with a woman and probably thought that was it – just a fling. He would later be called by the same woman, who told him she had given birth to his daughter. She didn’t think she would be able to care for the child, so she made the difficult decision to put the little one up for adoption. Jack tried to get his child back, but he couldn’t.

However, his daughter Kerry hired the services of a private investigator to find her father. The two were finally reunited in 2011 for the first time at an event in Florida.
